PISE Magazine, founded by Imani Hayward in May of 2007, is an expression of positive images in diverse communities.  It’s resilient look and urban edge makes it the ideal publication for the youth and “young at heart”.  Unlike your typical teen magazines, PISE Magazine is the mirror of everyday people.  It looks like everyday people!  It speaks like everyday people! And the best part about it; it’s made by everyday young adults!

Its purpose is to impact society with Positive Images of Self Expressions by featuring extraordinary youth, leaders of tomorrow, celebrity heroes and silent heroes who are making a positive impact to the world we live in.  PISE Magazine is sensitive to the need of educational and artistic stimulation amongst youth and young adults.  Its successful internship program allows high school and college students to gain valuable journalism, business, communication, and public speaking experience.

PISE Magazine is currently published quarterly (3 times a year), and each issue is distributed throughout university campuses, high schools, middle schools, non-profit organizations, churches, businesses, and local newsstands.  Its advertisers partner with PISE Magazine in its efforts to increase college retention rates and promote higher learning.  How is this possible?  PISE’s Advertisement Sales Representatives are a part of the paid internship program.  This opportunity helps the financially struggling college student stay afloat, and the less financially stable high school student prepare for college.

PISE Magazine’s first issue (May 2007) made a great first-impression, and its eye catchy second edition (April 2008) created an even bigger buzz amongst many supporters and readers. Comments such as “How do I subscribe?” and “This looks like it could be my daughter on the cover.”  is why PISE Magazine makes since.  In just a little over one year, PISE Magazine has grown and widened its scope to affect people all over the country. PISE Magazine not only serves the youth, but it serves as THE VOICE of the youth.
